“Retail design is where precision meets perception, where standards, systems, and spatial detail shape how a brand is felt.
I see storytelling not as an overlay, but as something built into the experience of space itself.”
Hi, I’m Akshada!
I’m a retail designer with 7 years of experience delivering environments where brand vision and operational reality come together. At Gensler, I work on retail design standards, store development, and multi-site rollout programs, helping translate complex brand and business needs into scalable design solutions across multiple locations.
I currently serve as client point of contact for a $4M+ annual design standards program for a global technology brand, supporting initiatives that range from construction-level detail to global design standards maintenance. That range across scales is what drew me to design leadership and management.
I hold a Master’s degree in Architecture from UCLA where I focused on entertainment narrative storytelling through animated media. That experience continues to inform my perspective, shaping the way I design spaces that feel immersive, intentional, and connected to a larger brand story.
I am passionate about creating scalable, brand-driven environments that integrate spatial design, storytelling, and user experience.
