The project explores the different patterns on the surfaces such as iso-curve, grid, contours and using the surface as an interactive element to analyse the relation between surface and the solid geometries.
The project “Transfigure” started with no. of sculptures by contemporary artists. In a team of 4 each one had their own sculpture which we remodeled precisely. These models were then fragmented depending on the nature of each sculpture to give rise to the matrix of parts. These matrix of parts was kit bashed to create a kit bashed model. This kit bashed model was the base of the morphology. Morphologies were created by scale, rotation etc. This morphology was then animated, rendered along with different color strategy. A fabricated model of the same was built. AR and VR experiences were also designed for the same morphology.

The image shows the selected morphology after kit-bashing four famous sculptures by Artists.

The strategy of kit-bashing the matrix of parts developed from all the four sculptures to form the Kit-bashed object. The key idea was to explore the relation between solids and surfaces.Kit-Bashing strategy indicating the supporting members, connection between legs, attaching the ends of the legs, and integrating of surfaces and solids.

The kit-bashed object was then morphed to create 16 different morphologies by using strategies like Proliferation, scale, rotation and changing the volume form.

The final chosen morphology built using three surfaces and few solids.

Representation drawing : Showing the morphology fragmented into its parts to identify each part and relate it to the sculpture which it belongs to.

The localisation strategy was applied on one main surface. To identify the surface curves and to understand the movement of the surface a point library was established on the surface.
